I took my granddaughter to go beach combing for ocean glass and sea shells. She had a ball. Just watch out for the steam rising from the left of the handicapped ramp. It's not a mysterious fog, it's the outlet pipe from the sewage treatment plant. If you're looking for ocean glass keep heading North for a couple blocks.
Ok, no daytime pics right meow. But suuuuuch a beautiful beach. Lots of fabulous waves and sometimes too many people but that's part for the course these days for sure.
Dog friendly. Perfect spot for sunset/moonrise.
Beautiful 💞
There is pieces of sea glass to be found on this beach, however if you want to find bigger pieces, you have to walk down a rocky beach that is hard to walk. Make sure you check tide chart so you don't get stuck down the beach. We only walked a little way and were able to find some treasures. It is a nice beach for beach combing. There are also trails that lead to Fort Worden. There aren't any bathrooms located at the park, but there are a couple port-a-potties across the grass area.
Nice area to walk along beach or take the grassy trail that leads into the trails at Fort worden beautiful walk to the top
My first time visiting and it was everything I hope it would be. The weather was great! There were people at the beach but not crowded. The parking is small but we got lucky because someone was leaving.
It's definitely worth driving to get sea glass and cool rocks.
Amazing beach walk with beautiful rock formations. The drift wood was beutiful.
This is where you start to get to the Glass Beach. There is a free parking lot. Go down to the beach and head north (left). At around the 2 Km mark you will see a fence made of driftwood posts. At 2.8 Km there is a concrete wall. At 3 Km there is a large rock formation in the water. Keep going! When you reach the far point it becomes more rocky and this is where you will find old car parts and garbage. Don’t stop here and keep going around the point. 5.2 K is at the start of the good glass collecting area and it extends about 2 Km along this long beach. Pay attention to the tide tables as at high tide some places are impassible. We have had it out just after high tide and have had no problems. We have managed to collect around 4 to 5 pounds between the two of us in two hours.
Parking is a bit small and beach is very small when tide is high, but the park has a nice grassy are to play and picnic on. Port-a-potty on site, did not use so don't know the condition. There also appeared to be a large field up towards a bluff that you could hike but not sure if it is officially part of the park. It was a nice place to stop, let the dog walk around a go potty, and take some beautiful pictures.
